With 14.9 Pounds Huge Tumor, She Can’t Move But Crawled Heavily On The Road Without Any Help…
Imagine crawling on the road, unable to move because of a giant tumor. That’s what Magnolia had to go through until she was rescued a few days ago. This sweet dog was found on Mahogany Road, and what the rescuers saw was shocking. A massive tumor protruded from Magnolia’s side – the largest they had ever seen. It was evident that Magnolia’s quality of life was zero, as she could barely move.
However, Magnolia’s luck changed when she was taken to the St. Croix Animal Welfare Center. The medical team knew that they had to act fast and remove the tumor to give Magnolia a chance at a better life. The surgery would be long and risky, with significant blood loss and other complications.
After hours of surgery, there was good news – the tumor had been removed! It weighed a whopping 14.9 pounds, and Magnolia was now ready to start the healing process. Dr. Mehalick and Dr. Browne were pleased with the success of the surgery, but they knew that Magnolia still had a long way to go.

The next day, Magnolia was doing well. She was eating and walking without the heavy tumor attached to her side, a feeling she had not experienced in a long time. The St. Croix Animal Welfare Center was her new home, and she was very happy and friendly.

Magnolia’s story is one of hope and resilience. It shows that with the right care and attention, even the most vulnerable animals can bounce back. We should never give up on them because they are part of our family, too.
Thankfully, Magnolia’s story has a happy ending, but there are still many animals out there who need our help. If you see an animal in distress, please report it to your local animal welfare center. It could make all the difference in the world to a helpless animal.
